Canton Auction Barn is offering a $100 reward for information that leads to an arrest of the person who stole a painting from the auction gallery earlier this month.

The cica 1880 8″x6″ oil painting on board was slated to be auctioned Feb. 20, with an estimated value between $200 to $400.

“In over 50 years of business, this is the first time the Canton Barn has had to file a police report for a theft,” said Susan Wacht Goralski, co-owner and business manger at the facility.

It was stolen from the auction gallery on Feb. 6 or 7 and owners believe someone must have witnessed the crime.

The business is offering a $100 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information can call 860-693-0601 or the Canton Police at 860-693-0221.
