Matthew Schuman, age 13 celebrated his Bar Mitzvah on October 15. One of the aspects of prepping for a Bar Mitzvah is participating in a Mitzvah Project. A mitzvah project allows one to provide good will to those less fortunate.
Matthew volunteered at the The Talcott Center for Child Development in Farmington. This is a comprehensive, therapy center for children with special needs and their families. The Talcott Center for Child Development works with a vast population ranging in age from birth to 21 years. Matthew spent his time assisting clinicians as they worked with a kids who had a wide range of diagnoses, including Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder and developmental delays. In addition to volunteering his time, Matthew, his family, and friends donated puzzles, playing cards and games to the Center for future use by these kids.
