Angling Gear Tag Sale Announced

The Farmington Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its annual Angling Gear Tag Sale at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Jan. 10, 2017, at the Farmington Community & Senior Center located at 321 New Britain Ave. in Unionville.  There is no charge for buyers or sellers and everyone is welcome.  Contact Bill Case at (860) 678-7245 or visit www.fvtu.org.  Please check the website in the event of dangerous weather conditions.  The organization is also collecting used spinning gear (including broken reels which can be repaired) for inner city children.

The mission of Trout Unlimited is to conserve, protect and restore cold water fisheries which include the Farmington, Pequabuck, Scantic, Hockanum and Tankerhoosen Rivers, Salmon Brook, and many smaller streams which support trout and salmon.  Chapter projects include stream structure, bank and flow restoration, river cleanups, the “Trout in the Classroom” program, fishing derbies for children and Project Healing Waters for veterans.
