Dear Neighbors,

The Canton Flower Bridge is about to launch its third year of providing beautiful floral displays along the wooden walking bridge, located beside the Farmington River on River Road in Collinsville. Canton Main Street, Inc., the originating organization for this project, is especially grateful for the community’s positive response to this beautification effort. The generosity of numerous businesses, organizations and individuals has provided the essential funding needed to develop the flower bridge over the past two years. During this time, the bridge has displayed 11 stunning hanging flower baskets, 5 flower boxes and 3 large stationary planters. As the seasons changed, the bridge transitioned to a beautiful winter display that included evergreen planters and holiday kissing balls. Additionally, a drip irrigation system was installed to help nurture the flowers through the hot summer months. Our vision remains focused on the enhancement of Canton’s natural beauty using floral displays that will delight residents and visitors to our town.

In the next few weeks we will be preparing the design of the Canton Flower Bridge for 2017. We will also be seeking sponsors for the new planting season in order to defray costs and to ensure the continuing success of this beautification project.

If you were a sponsor last year, please consider participating again this year. If you haven’t been a sponsor yet, we invite you to become a “Friend of the Canton Flower Bridge.” All contributions are tax-deductible and will be used to purchase flowers for the seasonal displays. Donations of $250 will sponsor a hanging flower basket and holiday kissing ball; a donation of $200 will sponsor an elongated flower box. Contributions of any amount are truly appreciated and will go directly toward the floral displays.   If you’re looking for a way to remember a special someone or to commemorate a special occasion, consider a gift of sponsorship.

Please send your tax-deductible checks payable to Canton Main Street, Inc.: Flower Bridge project. P.O. Box 350 Canton, CT 06019.

We thank you in advance for your generosity and steadfast commitment to a beautiful Canton.
