CANTON – For the second time in the 2016-17 school year, members of the Canton Intermediate School community had the chance to mingle with international students from the English Language Institute at the University of Hartford.
In the fall, the older students came to CIS to tell sixth-graders about their home countries and talk about everyday life, culture, food and customs.
And Thursday, April 6, the younger students had the chance to share their independent, student-centered learning projects with the English Language Institute students and teachers.
Students at CIS learn about other cultures and further develop their communication skills while the University of Hartford students get a chance to practice their language skills in a real-world environment, according to those involved.
