June 13, 2016 Business, Community No Comments
COLLINSVILLE — Yoga Center of Collinsville has announced it is moving up to the third floor of its current building at 10 Front St.
“This was a huge decision for our studio. The new space will resolve some long-standing challenges we’ve had with our 1st and 2nd floor layout,” said Shawn Cole, owner and director of YCC. “In the end, the strength of our student body and teachers gave me the confidence to invest in the move. The 3rd-floor suite provides us an ideal location to deliver increasingly exceptional wellness services to our clients in Collinsville for years to come.”
Work will begin in August and the center targeting a Sept. 1 unveiling of its new space, for which it has a 5-year lease. Until then, the center will continue to operate on the first and second floors.

A Grand Opening and Student Appreciation event in the new space to occur is in the works for late September or early October.

In a message to his clients, Cole listed the following advantages to the new space.

  • rooms are located in one, self-contained suite, making this a true “center” with reduced noise and interruptions during classes,
  • two larger yoga rooms – both with gorgeous wood flooring and even more astounding views of Sweetheart Mountain,
  • one room we can use for private yoga, massage, small group meetings and meditation,
  • plenty of space for a reception area, waiting area and a larger area for storage of personal items,
  • a larger bathroom with a shower, centralized cooling, heating and ventilation for better climate control and air quality, and
  • new class types are possible with the layout of the yoga rooms.

Additionally the center  is sponsoring “Yoga on Main,” a free community yoga class taught on Main St to kick off the Collinsville Hot event at 9 a.m. on July 16.

YCC was founded by Beverly Kent in 1998. Cole, a director of the Canton Chamber of Commerce, board member of Canton Main Street Inc and one of the founding organizers of the Collinsville Hot event, purchased the business in November of 2010.

“Thanks for your support over these past 6 years that I’ve been at YCC,” Cole wrote in a message to customers. “Our fabulous students and great teachers have given me the confidence to make this move to improve our space. I can’t wait to finish the work and show you the new space in September.”

The center offers group classes, season workshops, special offerings such as Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga, and special events . For more information, visit www.YogaCenterCollinsville.com or call 860-693-9642.
