Get ready for Canton-Thomaston III.

The Canton High girls basketball team defeated Housatonic Regional 41-32 in the Class S tournament semifinals Friday night at Simsbury High School, setting the stage for the Warriors and Thomaston to play in the state championship game for the third straight year.

The final will be played on the weekend of March 18-19 at Mohegan Sun Arena.  The date and time will be announced at a later date.

Senior Emily Briggs led Canton with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore Sarah Bowman grabbed 10 rebounds and had seven blocked shots.

Canton defeated Thomaston to win its first state title last March, avenging a loss to the Golden Bears in the Class S final the previous year.
